How's this for a strage saga. When the Wagoneer gets green lit for production it may not actually be called the Wagoneer.
According to Allpar the USPTO has suspended an FCA application to register the Gran Wagoneer trademark as it clashes with "Wagoneer" registered by Skyline Corporation, a fine manufacturer of travel trailers.
So in order to keep you from confusing the gargantuan Jeep SUV and tin box trailers the USPTO has said no bueno.
But this is where it gets odd. See FCA owns the trademark "Wagoneer" as they have since 1962...
I wouldn't mind if they ended up not using the Wagoneer name since due to the time gap between the old wagonner and it's successor, the successor just won't be able to represent the original as well as some of us want it to.
